If you are looking for an exclusive and luxurious wedding venue then Berkley Castle in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire is definitely one to consider. The castle is beautiful with a medieval atmosphere set in stunning surroundings over looking the Gloucestershire countryside. There is also a little church situated on the grounds and the charming village of Berkley offers accommodation for the bridal party to use only short walking distance from Berkley Castle.
I was thrilled to be working with Jonny MP Photography a talented photographer and who’s work I have alway admired. Plus, Paul Van, was their incredible videographer.
We met Abi and her bridesmaids at one of the charming cottages in the village where they were calmly getting their make up beautifully applied by Jessica Mills and hair perfectly styled by Sally-Kate. Meanwhile, I headed up the road to meet the groom and his party before accompanying them to Berkley Castle – just a few minutes from the house. Everyone was feeling relaxed and in high spirits for the day ahead. Back to the house Abi was helped into her stunning gown – she really looked gorgeous. At this point Abi handed her bridesmaids touching personal letters which was very emotional to witness – they gathered themselves before heading over to the castle.
The ceremony room was absolutely breathtaking – the aisle was lined with candles and meticulously arranged flowers by Sororid Design Events. The wedding was made extra special as the celebrant for the wedding was an old friend of the bride & groom. The couple exchanged their own heartfelt vows making the ceremony extremely personal and emotional. After the service the guests enjoyed a reception in the medieval rooms and where also given a tour of the castle including a Gin cellar.
While the guests were enjoying the tour the couple were taken off for a beautiful shoot around the castle and the gorgeous backdrop of the grounds before heading in for the wedding breakfast and brilliant speeches. They cut the cake made by Napier Catering which was literally a work of art and then the Entertainment Nation got the party started. It was a truly beautiful wedding and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of their special day.
