I have worked with Christine Maciocia many time and was excited to hear she was putting together a styled shoot for Photographers – she puts these together twice a year for Photographers to have some fun and take some really different and sunning styled shoot photos. Christine is an established artist specialising in vintage textiles and event/room styling. She creates amazing bespoke book art for families, vintage framed products of your children or loved ones printed onto silk and cleverly uses various vintage textiles to create a real heirloom as well as putting together lovely styled shoots for photographers. Her house is an Aladin’s Cave and every corder has a stunning hand made vintage lampshade, or book art or painting – it is a real feast for the eyes and she has such a unique talent. Christine had spent weeks sourcing props and hand making most of them including the centre piece for the table which was an over sized stunning cake made she says from items she found at home……! I wish I was that clever….! Her garden has a magical feel and she has created three little areas where we could photograph the children she had arranged to come along and model for us for the day. One was the beautiful turquoise birthday table, there was also a hammock and a tree house, then the den where she has made for the boys with vintage trains, old suitcases and books and creative table where there was a vintage typewriter with little props on the table. Christine had brought 2 outfits for the children to change into and the girls arrived first in these amazing blue summer dresses which matched the table perfectly and the little boys in cute shorts and white shirts. All the photographers had fun with the children in the different areas they wanted to play in before we stopped for lunch and the children changed into different summer dresses for the girl and baker boy trousers with braces and caps for the boys – they all looked so cute and they were all so well behaved considering there was a lot going on, a lot to look at and a lot of unfamiliar faces. I had an amazing day – it was lovely to spend the day being creative with a group of like-minded photographers and share knowledge, chat about our businesses and exchange funny stories. I can’t wait to see what Christine creates for her next styled shoot on Sunday 21st July….
Big thank you to all the little models – Charlie, Imogen, Ella, Dylan, Poppy, Jesicca and to Rebecca from Lilys Flowers who supplied the lovely flowers on the tables and to Chervone from Hobbs Salon in Northwood who worked on the girls hair and made them look so pretty and to Christine for creating such a magical day for us all….
