The Little Book Magazine – Summer Issue

Lifestyle Shoots

I was delighted to be approached by Jemma, Editor in Chief of The Little Book Magazine which she started a couple of years ago and has grown the magazine to now cover Windsor, Eton & Ascot as well as a publication for the Henley & Marlow area launch last year and this year she also launched the magazine in Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross areas.  It is a gorgeous little families magazine that covers everything you need to know for your family in your area from lovely clothing boutiques, to fun days out, school information, hot topic discussions and many many more.  In each issue Jemma likes to add a little fashion photo shoot to match the season and to make for a colourful and fun addition to the magazine.

We had a little meeting to discuss various themes for the shoot and came up with a summer beach theme although it would involved a lot of hard work to co-ordinate but would be ideal for the next issue.

I introduced Jemma to Christine who is a wonderful stylist – we discussed our ideas and she was excited to come aboard and help on the shoot with the props and styling.  We all got together and sounded out our ideas and then arranged a date at West Wittering Beach in East Susses – a beautiful protect cost line with soft golden sand and gorgeous multi coloured beach huts.  The day arrived and we all set off early to avoid the crowds.  The weather had been touch and go but the forecast was fine so we took our chances and all headed off to the coast.  On arrival Christine got to work on the styled shoot area down by the sea – she wanted to created a vintage ship wrecked look about the shoot and brought an amazing vintage cast iron children’s cot, lots of stunning props some of which she had hand made.  Jemma arrived with the beautiful children’s clothes from designs such as  Timberland, Hacket, Joeles, Poppy Children, Ralph Lauren, Jo Jo Maman Bebe, Mino along with some more props lent to her by Sarah, the owner of the gorgeous boutique gift shop in Windsor called Cocoa Bean.

The children were so excited and a little bemused at the scene being created by Christine down on the beach – it was also creating quite an interest from fellow beach gowers.  The children got changed and couldn’t wait to get started.  The were all so sweet and so well behaved.  The morning was very chilly and so they did a great job in their little summer outfits not to freeze but by the time we moved onto an outfit change and different area of the beach the sun started to break through and they soon warmed up.  The kids played piggy back races by the beach huts, hide and seek in the sand dunes and tag along the beach.  The finally ended up sitting down for a vintage inspired picnic to finish off the perfect beach day out.

Thank you to Christine for the styling and props, to Jemma from The little Book for the wonderful fashion styling, all the clothing companies and to all the brilliant children that made the shoot so special….

The Little Book Magazine summer edition is out in Windsor, Ascot, Henley, Marlow, Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield and is a gorgeous little families magazine which is information on every aspect for family life – you can pick up a copy in most of the Waitrose shops in these towns. I hope you enjoy the shoot as much as we enjoyed putting it together.  Here are a few images from the shoot……
