Pauline & Gary live in London but wanted to have a farm styled, vintage wedding in the country and after searching for various venues they came upon Herons Farm situated in Pangbourne, Berks. It is very off the beaten track and set in beautiful countryside. After the “secret wedding” at Islington Town Hall the week before they were now going to cement their vows with an outdoor blessing with all their very close friends and family in a very intimate ceremony conducted by Pauline’s father who is a Minister.
The sun was out, the Pimms was on chill and Pauline was getting ready with her two sisters and their children in the honeymoon suite. Pauline wore a beautiful 50;s style wedding dress with pink netting underneath and her gorgeous red Vivienn Westwood open toe shoes.
As the guest started to arrived they were greeted with a glass of champagne on the lawn before gathering to welcome the Bride and Groom. Pauline’s nephew lead the wedding party with a plaque staying “here comes the bride” followed by her two nieces and finally Pauline & Gary.
Pauline’s father delivered a very moving and thoughtful speech and carried out the Blessing in front of all their lovely friends – it was so intimate, sentimental and touching. After the service a vintage tea party marquee was set up for the guests to enjoy tea and cakes and Pimms. Pauline has also created a vintage sweet shop area for the children and guests to enjoy. So much thought and detail was put into the day and almost everything was done by Pauline & Gary themselves.
As the guests enjoyed the drinks and cakes I took Pauline & Gary off for a little walk to have some alone time and to take some lovely couple shots. We found a hay barn which was lots of fun – just as we took the last photo the “Cosmic Sausages” a very colourful band arrived. They were a surprise for all the guests had all the guests dancing and laughing with their props and songs and unique style.
The Barn for the wedding breakfast was absolutely stunning. Pauline had used old records as the table names, a beautiful vintage suitcase for the cards was set up on a separate table and bunting and lovely lighting hung all around the barn.
Pauline & Gary entered the barn to a roar of cheers and applause. Once sat down Pauline’s father delivered his speech which was very heart felt followed by Gary’s speech and finally the Best Man’s speech which had everyone in stitches. While the guests were eating the delicious Hog Roast the Cosmic Sausages serenaded them throughout dinner and then during the desert and coffee the Cosmic Sausages serenaded the happy couple with lots of funny props and banners for the couple to hold which everyone loved.
They finished they gorgeous day with a lovely first dance before all the guests go on the dance floor for a night of partying into the small hours.
